Robert Becken, a Laramie, Wyoming resident, is the owner and operator of Range Community Insurance. Originally hailing from New York, Robert moved to Laramie in 2012 to attend the University of Wyoming, and fell in love with the landscape, people, and community. After meeting his wife Jerrica, a Laramie local and UW alum, Robert and Jerrica moved to Oregon for a few years. It was there that Robert started his career in the insurance industry as a licensed agent for a niche insurance firm, Alliance Insurance, which specialized in assisted living and independent living providers.
In 2015, Alliance was acquired by Assured Partners (AP), a top 5 national broker. Robert worked under the new ownership as a Senior Producer specializing in Commercial Risk Management for mid-market and large enterprise clients. In 2018, Robert and Jerrica moved back to the Laramie community where Robert continued working for AP.
After over a decade in the business, Robert was approached by Famers’ Union Service Association (FUSA) to partner with them to open a FUSA affiliated agency in Laramie. FUSA agencies provide some of the most competitive and customized insurance solutions for home, auto, and commercial interests, as well as other types of property and casualty insurance. FUSA’s values of relationship building, community engagement, and superior customer service closely aligned with Robert’s own business values, and Range Community Insurance was born. Range Community Insurance is proud to be a FUSA partner, and we abide by the Building a Better Life Promise.
Robert is an avid sports fan, an animal lover, a dedicated community member, and a devoted father and husband. He and Jerrica live in Laramie with their two daughters, Ainsley and Addison. Robert loves Laramie and is so grateful to be raising his family in this wonderful community. He is thrilled to contribute to the business community of a town he cherishes and loves to give back to.

Chris Downs
Chris Downs, a Laramie resident since 2012, is the newest agent at Range Community Insurance. Chris, originally from Colon, Michigan -The Magic Capital of The World- came to Wyoming in 2009 for a job in the oil and gas industry where he worked in the safety department. Chris relocated to Laramie in 2012 and has lived here since, outside of a brief stint in Denver, where he followed the love of his life, Kayla, while she pursued her education. While Chris maintains close relationships with his large family in Southwest Michigan, he could not imagine leaving all the friends he has made here in Laramie – and the sunny skies of Wyoming don’t hurt either!
You may recognize Chris’ friendly face from his long tenure at Altitude Chophouse and Brewery, where he was a bartender, manager, and the long time President of the Altitude Mug Club. Following his employment at Altitude, Chris shifted gears in 2020, joining the wonderful and supportive team at Smooth Movers as the Operations Manager. Chris is very proud of his achievements at Smooth Movers, obtaining an unprecedented level of success as one of the premier moving companies in the region.
Chris is the proud husband to Kayla and father to Stevie. He lives in Laramie with his family and their two loving pit bulls, Babar and KK. Chris is a huge fan of all the sports teams that call Detroit home, as well as the Wyoming Cowboys and Laramie Plainsmen. Prior to a serious leg injury a few years ago, Chris was considered by many to be the 3rd or 4th best dancer in town. While he no longer dances competitively, he still loves to cut a rug when the mood is right! Chris is eager to begin this new chapter, serving the community that he calls home and cherishes deeply.
